Nail service is getting more and more popular in 2022, especially in the spring-summer season. All beauty salons are excited to create bright nail colors for summer. Nail treatment is also so important. So leading nail experts tell what manicures and nail care will be in fashion in 2022: from metallic and chrome to nail stickers.
Multicolored metallic.
Metallic fashion continues. Gold, silver, unicorns… Glittering chrome microparticles are added to traditional designs, reinterpreting a familiar theme.
Nail rings.
Silver and gold jewelry now adorn not only fingers but also nails. With the invention of fine three-dimensional lines and nail designs that look like rings, we can create the jewelry of any shape.
French manicure with black tips.
The main color of the nail art we created for the Laquan Smith show at New York Fashion Week was a nude color that blended softly into the skin tone. However, the tips of the nails were jet black, a la french, with sharp lines. A style that combines softness with unique strength is how the French manicure has evolved.
Customization and personalization.
Customization and personalization are high on my list of nail trends for 2022. Loved by people like Harry Styles, who recently launched his beauty line Pleasing (which includes a capsule collection of four shades of nail polish). The trend helps to express inner beauty and convey mood with your fingertips. One day you can paint your nails with gloomy black, the next you can apply directly on top of an iridescent mother-of-pearl. You can choose different shades for different fingers. Layer, experiment, play.
Letter stickers for nails.
Letter nail stickers are coming soon, allowing you to express your opinion or mood with symbols. As you can see from the Gucci Aria campaign, logomania and personalization will be huge trends next year. Keep it simple by using the initials or the name of your favorite designer brand.
Experimental French manicure.
French manicures are always in fashion. It doesn’t have to be pink and white. It can be a transparent base with colorful tips, your favorite color combination, a matte color base with glossy “smiles” or “smiles” of different shades on each nail.
Metallic.
There will be a big shift towards metallic. We’ve already seen chrome and decadent glitter take off later this year and I think brands will start producing high-quality metallic and gel polishes.
Classic french manicure.
When it comes to manicures, people lean towards simplicity and classics. The reimagined French manicure will be everywhere, be it contouring, ombre or traditional. Classic pink and white will complement any color palette, so the trend will be key in 2022.
Matte nails.
Matte textures give a new look to the manicure without complicating it visually. Moreover, the matte finish makes any color more interesting. Try opaque nude. It looks like polished concrete. Luxuriously.
Reflective shine.
How would I describe it? Imagine a cat’s eye in the dark when it is hit by headlights or a flashlight. Reflective sequins do the same. When the nails are lit with natural light, they shine beautifully, but when a flash hits them, they literally light up! They look great as an accent, as a detail of a French manicure or as an ombre. And it works great for a pedicure.
Brilliant decorations.
As we head into party season (hopefully parties will still be on the map this year), a little bling is an easy way to spice up any manicure. It’s also a trend that can be as minimal or maximal as you like. The cuffs are cute, as are the single crystals placed in the same place on each nail. Some of my clients regularly opt for crystal manicures, they are actually quite popular. Apply the crystals with a small amount of nail glue and secure with a top coat. I prefer the Essie Gel Couture top coat for maximum shine and zero shrinkage.
